General Information
The 25th Annual Swags Louisville Cross Country Classic will be held on Sat., Oct. 3, 2026, at E. P. “Tom” Sawyer State Park.
The women’s race distances are 5,000 and 6,000 meters, and the men’s race distance is 8,000 meters. Awards will be presented to the top two men’s and women’s teams, and special awards will be given to the top 25 finishers in each race.
Meet Scoring per NCAA Cross Country Memo
Effective Aug. 1, 2018, Division I intercollegiate cross country competition can be used to satisfy sport sponsorship requirements as long as at least one other Division I institution is represented in the event. This replaces the previous two-thirds requirement and eliminates the need for institutions to separate scoring by division.

2026 Entry Process
Priority Entry Registration Period:
Open Date: May 21, 2026
Close Date: Aug. 4, 2026
Coaches who want to ensure their team’s entry in the meet are strongly encouraged to submit team rosters through DirectAthletics ans complete payment before August 4, 2026. Registration and payment may be completed through Direct Athletics.

Due to high interest in the event, meet management may close the entry process if capacity is reached prior to the August 5 standard entry opening date or at any point before the September 25 registration deadline.
Team rosters may be updated until the standard entry deadline of September 25. All requests to exceed the Priority roster size of 15 athletes must be submitted for approval by August 7 to the meet director, David Lawhorn (lawho9@aol.com).
NOTE: Your team is not officially entered in the meet until it is both REGISTERED and PAID.
Standard Entry Registration Period:

The standard entry period is ONLY for teams that did not submit rosters and payment during the Priority Entry period (May 21 – August 4).

Priority Entry Fee
The priority entry fee is $375 per team and $750 for combined men’s and women’s teams that register and pay by August 4. If paying by check, payment must be received by the Louisville Sports Commission office no later than August 4. Rosters exceeding 15 athletes must receive approval from the meet director via email (lawho9@aol.com).
Standard Entry Fee
The standard entry fee is $450 per team and $900 for combined men’s and women’s teams registering between August 5 and September 25. If paying by check, payment must be received by the Louisville Sports Commission office by September 25. Rosters exceeding seven athletes must request approval from the meet director during the entry process via email (lawho9@aol.com).
